DARRYL BROWN 🏴
Principal and CEO
Originally from Wales, Darryl is married to Milagros and is the father of two children, both of whom attend the school. Darryl began his career as a secondary school teacher in Kenya, but has spent the last nineteen years working in and leading international schools in Kenya, Venezuela and the USA before taking up his current post as Principal in August 2012.
An IB North America workshop leader (Mathematics), academy member and accreditation officer (IB, CIS and AdvancED), Darryl balances his work in education with a passion for rugby; continually trying, and occasionally succeeding, in dispelling the myth that he is too old to play. Darryl speaks English and Spanish.

Vicky has a background in the UK secondary and tertiary education sector and entered it as a teacher of Business & Economics. She went on to teach these subjects, in addition to Accounts and Law, across her specialist age group of 14-19. She developed and delivered on both academic and vocational student pathways. She has also been an A-Level examiner and a mentor for those seeking professional qualifications. Having accrued seven years class room practice, she progressed to be part of a whole school senior-management team in a multi-cultural comprehensive secondary school in London catering for 1700 students as an Assistant Head Teacher for over seven years.

Rob was born and raised in Melbourne, Australia, where he graduated from Deakin University with a B.Ed., B.App.Sc. (Hons.), and M.App.Sc. in Leadership. Initially he taught at primary and secondary schools in Melbourne, and then lectured at Tertiary level to B.Ed. students. For the past 14 years Rob has been employed at I.B. World Schools in the British Virgin Islands and the Bahamas, where he has held senior management roles and taught PYP at various year levels. Outside of school, Rob’s interests include travel, photography, Caribbean history and culture, and sport. He particularly enjoys watching the Australian rugby team continue their 40-year dominance over the Welsh.

Faculty & Staff
Susanne was born and raised in Germany. After receiving an honours degree in Primary Education from the University of Greenwich, she worked and lived in various countries, including the UK, US and Norway.
Born in Belfast, Northern Ireland, Nicola lived in Europe, Canada and the States before immigrating to Barbados in 1998.
Kirsty was born in England. She has been teaching for 10 years, has worked in schools in the UK and comes to Codrington from The International School of Milan, Italy.
Chrystal is an established songwriter and arranger and has written winning compositions throughout the Caribbean. Her passion for the arts lead her to pursuing a degree in Music from the Barbados Community College, a Bachelors Degree in Fine Arts with a double major in Film and Theatre with Honors.
Oliver is from London and has has been teaching in a large secondary school there for 12 years. He has previous international teaching experience at a small IB school in Idaho, USA.
Born in Madrid, Spain, and raised in Venezuela, I have been teaching Spanish in International schools for over twenty years, the last ten in IB World schools.
Educated in the UK, Joanna graduated with her degree in Economics and Social Sciences from Manchester University, England. She moved into Business based both in London (UK) and Boston (US).
Daniel was born and grew up just outside Manchester. His interest in History and Politics led to him studying them at Durham University. After extensive travelling he went on to teach English in South Korea and Japan before he returned to the UK and undertook his PGCSE in Manchester.
Peggy has been teaching for the past eighteen years, thirteen of which have been within the International Baccalaureate PYP Programme. Before coming to Barbados in 2006, Peggy taught at the Luiz Munoz-Marin Elementary School in Brooklyn, New York, where she taught for five years.
Born and raised in Canada, Heather lived in Asia for ten years before moving to Barbados in 2017. She has taught in Beijing and Hong Kong in addition to two years of teaching in Vancouver.
Stephanie Brathwaite is an MYP science and the DP Biology teacher and has been an educator for over twenty five years, with most of that time spent in the private sector. She is from Barbados and is a graduate of the University of the West Indies, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and Masters in Education in Testing and Measurement.
Caroline was born in the North East of France, right on the border of Belgium, Luxembourg and Germany. She went to study languages and films in Nancy, France and after her degree she moved to London to be a language assistant in a secondary school.
Barbara was born and raised in Canada and discovered her passion for education while teaching ESL in Japan. She returned to Canada to complete her teaching degree and spent the past 13 years teaching in the small town where she grew up. In addition to obtaining her Mathematics Specialist, she is also a qualified French Language teacher.
Tanner was born in Canada, growing up in the city of Calgary, Alberta. After graduating from the University of Alberta, he moved abroad to start his teaching career. Tanner comes to Barbados having spent the past seven years teaching in England, and IB schools in China and Japan.
Zak was born in Lincolnshire, England and has been teaching in Qatar and the UK over the past few years.
Nadine’s many years of teaching have taken her across cultures from primary to university level, affording her an opportunity to discover a profound love for students of all ages. In her previous capacity as a facilitator of Special Education Services in St. Lucia, Nadine held the positions of Head/Coordinator of the Language and Literacy Department at her school,
Nadia was born in Barbados. After completing her university degree, she went on to Erdiston Teachers’ Training College to persue her lifelong dream of becoming a teacher.
Born and raised in Spain, Beatriz has been teaching Spanish at International Schools in India for the past 6 years. She earned a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and got certified as a Spanish Language Teacher in Salamanca, Spain.
Born and raised in St.Lucia. Went to Puerto Rico to pursue dream of becoming a teacher. After graduating from college I taught fourth and sixth graders at the Calvary Baptist Christian School there is Puerto Rico for 3 years.
Carol was born and grew up in North Yorkshire. Carols passion towards design has led her on a varied journey. She used to make her own clothes and furnishings when she became interested in styles, colours and textures.
Georgios was born and raised in Athens Greece. He graduated from the University of
Edinburgh in Scotland and worked in the marketing of pharmaceuticals and medical
diagnostics for several years before moving into teaching Chemistry.

Beyza was born and raised in Turkey. She has been teaching for four years, has worked at an IB school in Istanbul. In addition to teaching mathematics, she has led the Mind Games Math Club and has assisted the Astronomy Club at her previous school.
Carla was born and raised in The Bahamas on Grand Bahama Island. She commenced her PYP teaching career 16 years ago as one of the inaugural teachers at an International Baccalaureate school on Grand Bahama and has spent the majority of her teaching career in the Pre-K and Kindergarten year levels.
Allie was born and raised in Maryland, USA. She studied at Towson University where she earned a bachelors degree in Early Childhood Education. She taught preschool and kindergarten for five years in the United States.
Born in Barbados, left secondary school at the age of 17, I then went onto to study Early Childhood at Erdiston Teachers Training College.
Dario, our IT Guru, joined The Codrington Team in December 2015. He brought with him a wealth of experience as an IT Technician and Network Administrator. Having worked in five star resorts locally and regionally his knowledge is invaluable. Dario is also a proud parent of a lovely little girl, an avid car enthusiast and actively involved in the community.
Born and raised in Barbados, Diana moved to the UK to further her education. After completing her A-levels, she obtained an undergraduate degree in Psychology from Kingston University and a Masters degree in Psychotherapy from Roehampton University. During this time she continued to study one of her passions – ballet. She also took the opportunity to travel. Some of her favourite places include India, Iceland and Barcelona.
Ms. Sabrina, is the Office Manager and our School Nurse.
Sabrina is fluent in Spanish, embraces her culture and is passionate about education, student safety and health. She is supportive and nurturing to each of our students. Her philosophy is ‘one should never stop learning – there is so much yet to explore.

Sarah is a proud Barbadian and dedicated mother of two very active little boys. She is a very organized and detailed oriented individual who, after graduating with a Bachelors in Business Management from the University of the West Indies has spent most of her career working in accounting within the Offshore sector in Barbados before joining the Codington Team. Sarah loves cooking and trying new dishes from all over the world.
Ms. Dawn, a proud Barbadian and our Facilities Manager, ensures the school looks and operates at its’ best. Having studied at The Barbados Community College, Dawn is very detail oriented and takes immense pride in her work.
